Biscuits

I am making biscuits for supper; mostly using a recipe from my mother-in-law, Helen. Dan's mom always cuts her biscuits with a round cookie cutter whereas my mom always pats the dough into a rectangle and then cuts it into pieces. I thought the circles were prettier and so I have always done that. However the last couple of times, I have been in a hurry so just did my mom's way. As I was doing that tonight, I thought of my mom preparing meals for us; often doing the quickest way rather than the fancier ways. Usually hurrying because she had been doing something with or for us. I don't think I will ever cut circles in my biscuits again. I still think it's prettier and neater but I like the memories and love that the rectangle and squarish pieces bring.
