Community

This little prairie town has the potential to be a really lonely place. I am a mama with two small children. We live on one part time income which means that there aren't a lot of extras happening right now. It is really cold and winter lasts for a long time making option of hibernating a very tempting one. And yet, there is such a sense of community here that I love so so much. There are so many lovely women whom I get to share this portion of my journey with. Some I know well, others I am excited to get to know better, one whom my heart is aching about the "see you later" (not good bye) that will be said tomorrow. A couple of nights ago, after our babies were asleep for the night, we gathered a my house to work on my newest form of artistic expression. I offered a little bit of guidance and then we all went at. I call it a form of therapy. Which part is more therapeutic, jabbing wool over and over with a sharp needle or laughing and talking, I am not sure but I know that I treasure this time. I may not always have  a group of supportive women who will share in daily life and even my art with me. And so I intend to continue braving the cold and inviting others to brave it so that together we can share in this beautiful community.
