I have posts for recipes, advent thoughts, book lists written and almost
ready to post but somehow I haven’t been making the time. Next week, there is
plenty of time, next week.
I’m booked for a Farmers and Traders Christmas Market in a week and haven’t gotten
much done for it. I’m always torn because I want to make some money on the
side, doing something I love but I’m just not good at time management these
days. I don’t like to spend a lot of the girls waking moments focused on
working, but often after they have gone to bed, if Dan and I aren’t doing
something together, I either want to write or just go to sleep.
It’s been frustrating me lately and I won’t lie, it’s been making me pretty
grumpy. I kind of knew it all along, but today, I finally realized that my less
than admirable attitude has been taking more away from the girls and Dan than
if I were intentionally working on something in a more pleasant manner. So
while Dan was at work, the girls played and I created. It was a sunny warm day
so the two older girls played outside for hours while Kathleen played around my
feet. It was lovely and I was able to get a lot done.
Then tonight, Dan and the girls all went to a jam night while I crafted some
more.
I made a sweet little bunting baby. It is made from a recycled (or is it
upcycled?) wool maternity sweater and stuffed with wool. Actually, the body and
hat are entirely made from the sleeves of the sweater. In keeping with the
waldorf tradition, I made an expression neutral face but I am quite sure that I
see a little smile. I made it for market but I don’t know if I can bear to part
with it. Far from perfect but pretty cute.
I’m linking to this week’s Your Green Resource with
this sweet baby doll.
